Sheffield Field Trip

Year 10 and 11 students visited Sheffield to carry out urban fieldwork for their Geography Controlled Assessments this year. The title of the coursework has to alternate each year for the WJEC exam board. One year students compare the impact of tourism on different villages within the Peak District. The other year, students compare Quality of Life in two areas of Sheffield, Highfield, (which is the area immediately around Bramhall Lane) and Norton,(next to Graves Park in the south of Sheffield). Students conduct bi-polar surveys looking at different aspects of Quality of Life, including housing, services, transport and the environment. The students also conduct a traffic survey and then use this raw data to inform comparisons.
