Adult Community Education
Welcome to Derbyshire Adult Community Education at Hope Valley College!
We run a wide range of courses and activities at Hope Valley College and in local village venues. We do hope you can find something that interests you.

Places are available on new adult education courses starting in the summer term.Give us a ring or send an e mail if you'd like to find out more or join. Look out for the new summer brochure, available in local shops, post offices and from the College.

Spanish for Holidays MONDAY 7 - 8.15pm (6 weeks) Starting April 16th
Plastering for Beginners Weekend - 30th June/ 1st July at Aston Industrial Estate
Plastering City & Guilds Certificate - Mondays and Tuesdays 9.45am - 5.15pm starting 16th April (Aston Industrial Estate)
External Plastering weekend - May 12th/13th. Rendering and Pebble Dashing
Computers: Introduction to Applemacs Wed. 16th May 10 am - 12 noon
Lip Reading & Communication - Thursdays 10 -12.
Welding City & Guilds, Levels 1-3; Monday 9.30 - 1.30pm (Starts April 16th)
Art - Painting and Drawing - HVC Monday evening, Grindleford on Thursday morning
Family Pottery - Wed. 4 - 6pm 7 wks (Children free of charge) starts 18th April
Computing ITQ. Thur 7-9pm starting April 19th

YOGA - Gentle session Tues. 10.50 am at Bamford Institute; starts April 17th
Relaxing Yoga Wed. morning, Bamford Institute , starting 18th April
Keep Fit for Over 50s - Friday 9.30 am Bamford Institute
Pilates, Friday 11 am Bamford Institute
Tai Chi and Qigong - Hathersage Memorial Hall, Thurs 9.45 - 11.30 , starting April 19th

or call in at the Community Education Office , Hope Valley College, Castleton Rd; Hope, Derbyshire S33 6SD. The Office is USUALLY open Monday - FRIDAY day , 9.30 - 2.30 pm (but not Tuesday or Friday afternoons)
Financial support is available for students on low incomes. Ask in the Community Education office for details. Please note that when you enrol for the first time on a course , you will need two pieces of identification. Please bring them with you to the first session of your course.
If you would like advice or guidance on further education or careers, we can arrange a meeting with one of our advice workers.
Ring or e mail us at the Community Education Office for any enquiries. If no one answers your call, it maybe because of we are busy elsewhere in the building. Do leave a message on our answer machine.
