Mountain Bike Challenge
Saturday 15 September 2012
This charity Mountain Bike Challenge has grown in popularity over the years and is now in it’s 12th Year! Riders can choose between a 16 mile and 30 mile route around the Hope Valley and beyond. It is predominantly off-road, long, demanding and certainly presents a challenge! We have made afew changes for this year's event:
- Mass start
- Every rider will get an individual time
- New first loop with some great technical trail
This event is for experienced riders, the route is technical and takes you via Jaggers Clough, Edale and Jacobs Ladder to Hayfield returning via Rushup Edge and takes in Hollins Cross (Mam Tor) on the way back. It is organised by volunteers with full proceeds being split between Hope Valley College PTFA and local charities.
It is definitely not a race, we ask that riders come along, enjoy themselves (hopefully without falling off!) and take up the challenge to complete the route – of course there is also the challenge to consume more calories than you actually burn off by eating the delicious cake provided at checkpoints along the way! Hot soup and a roll await riders at the finish. All riders recieve an event t-shirt, and we have plenty of spot prizes from our sponsors. Advance registration is necessary. Check-in and car parking takes place at Hope Valley College.
