Head of PE Rob Moxon said: "Our students put in a string of impressive performances which I was incredibly proud of. They all train incredibly hard and keep their fitness levels high and their successes reflect this. All their hard work was vindicated by the strong finishing positions they achieved."
Both the Year Seven boys and girls teams finished second in their respective competitions, whilst Libby Hallam put in superb personal performance by finishing first in the Year Seven girls race. In another superb individual performance James Selvey won the boys intermediate race earning him the right to represent Derbyshire at the National Championships held in early March.
Mr. Moxon added: "I am delighted for James as he works incredibly hard at his fitness and it is fantastic that all this hard work has culminated in him getting to represent the county in the national arena. I would also like to congratulate Libby on her fantastic performance and hopefully she will continue to go from strength to strength in the years to come."
Principle Bernie Hunter said: "For a relatively small school, it is fantastic that we managed to achieve a second place finish in two categories. In addition we have provided two students who achieved individual first place finishes. I would like to congratulate everybody who took part on their fantastic achievements. Many thanks go to the teachers who gave up their time to support our youngsters. "
